Canada Day

Canterbury Common is a fabulous place for empty nesters, retirees and anyone who enjoys beauty, tranquility and wonderful sunrises and sunsets. Snowbirds and cottagers are as welcome as year-round residents. Whether working or retired, the community offers the privacy of single family homes with the opportunity of a variety of social activities. It is easy to find something of interest – each and every resident enjoys the lifestyle he or she chooses.

Social activities and events must be self-funded so that those who choose to not participate are not supporting the activities or events. That being said, the talents and neighbourliness of residents mean that there is a full slate of activities. The activities are run by residents, for residents, and there are no fees other than what the participants establish. Use of the community centre for community activities is free. In a sentence, Canterbury Common is a community of neighbours, joined by common interests, who work to provide an environment suitable for the enjoyment of active adults.

The activities and events that currently take place are listed below. Everyone is welcome to join any of the numerous social groups. Residents are welcome to start special interest groups that are missing from the roster of activities – that’s how all of these activities got started.
