Adult lifestyle communities are frequently referred to as retirement, senior or ’empty nester’ communities. They are often oriented toward an active lifestyle. This does not mean they are activity driven, for they allow people to do as much or as little as the individuals choose. The participants enrich their lives with choices and opportunities.
The design of the community promotes a lifestyle as peaceful or involved as each resident wishes. If sitting and watching boats go by is a choice, we have it! Other communities can change radically in character over time as homes change ownership and children grow up and leave. Because of the design and concept of Canterbury Common the character of the community is maintained. Canterbury Common remains adult-focused to ensure quiet enjoyment of the community by everyone.
